Multiple Canon Firmware Updates Released, Canon EOS R1, EOS R5, EOS R5 Mark II, EOS R6 Mark III, PowerShot G7 X Mark III

Firmware Notice: EOS R1: Firmware Version 1.2.0 Download Here

Firmware Version 1.2.0 incorporates the following enhancement and fix.

  1. Adds support for the EOS Multi Remote, a remote shooting system for professional photographers.
    a. For an overview and specifications of EOS Multi Remote, please refer to the Canon website: https://ssw.imaging-saas.canon/app/app.html?app=emr
  2. Fixes an issue in which image transfers to an FTP server may fail, displaying Err41.
  3. Fixes an issue that, in rare instances, may prevent certain CFexpress cards from being formatted in the camera.
  4. Other improvements to system stability.

Please perform the firmware update with only a firmware file to be updated stored on the memory card.

Firmware Version 2.2.1 incorporates the following fixes:

  1. Fixes an issue that, in rare instances, may prevent certain CFexpress cards from being formatted in the camera.
  2. Fixes an issue that may prevent the camera’s firmware from being updated via an Internet connection, even when a newer firmware version is available on Canon servers.

Please perform the firmware update with only the firmware file to be updated stored on the memory card

Firmware version 1.2.0 incorporates the following fixes and enhancements:

  2. Fixes an issue that in some cases caused the live-view to appear distorted or an Err70 notification being displayed in situations when the user was capturing a multiple exposure shot in a dark environment.

  4. Fixes an issue that, in rare instances, may prevent certain CFexpress cards from being formatted in the camera.
  5. Other improvements to system stability.
